In a Room Full of Blinking Lights
Feb. 23rd, 2014 01:08 amTake a drag out of that cigarette,
And let that smoke permeate the air
Close your eyes and soon you’ll get
The smell of smoke in your hair.
In the dingy corner of the busy streets
You slowly lean by the grimy wall
On your neck a hemp necklace sits
You are patiently waiting for a call.
You enter the bar with a baleful smirk
Then you dance with a handsome stranger
In the dark you leisurely lurk
A shot of whiskey in a hand, a smile with a promise of danger.
You drown yourself in the blinking lights
As you pivot your hips to the sound
You seek for that permanent light as hard as you might
The one to bring you out of the dark and lift you from the ground.
And let that smoke permeate the air
Close your eyes and soon you’ll get
The smell of smoke in your hair.
In the dingy corner of the busy streets
You slowly lean by the grimy wall
On your neck a hemp necklace sits
You are patiently waiting for a call.
You enter the bar with a baleful smirk
Then you dance with a handsome stranger
In the dark you leisurely lurk
A shot of whiskey in a hand, a smile with a promise of danger.
You drown yourself in the blinking lights
As you pivot your hips to the sound
You seek for that permanent light as hard as you might
The one to bring you out of the dark and lift you from the ground.
