There’s nothing I’d like more
than to grow isolated
Away from the noise, away from the people,
away from everything I hated.
I want to run away and never come back,
I want to live life all by myself.
I want to join the clouds and the sun in the sky,
I want to stay in my own shelf.
But as much as I want to stay in isolation
something keeps me here.
I want to see the people laughing,
even drinking from the same can of beer.
I want to witness a love unfold
before my very eyes,
I want to see people cry, in happiness or sorrow
with no masks and no lies.
I want a time for myself
and a time to see the stories of others.
I want isolation for now but soon I’d like
to see how daughters became mothers and how brothers became fathers.
